Hi, I recently purchased a 1997 Regal Commodore 292 equiped with two Mercruiser V8 5.7L and new Alpha One sterndrives. I would like to know what is the best cruising speed (approx.) for this boat, and what would be the approx. fuel consumption at that speed.

Also, what would be the approx. fuel consumption at full-throttle?

Thank you!

I have a 2860 with twin volvo penta 4.3 gxi
Owing 6 years I have done everything possible too conserve fuel
GO slow cause I enjoy being on water never go fast, sail boats pass me ,
Throttle wide open FAST < SLOW <
AT TIME OF FUEL FILL UP , YOU WILL CRY watching that meter
A gallon a mile fuel burn is average ,
4 kicks & giggles running one engine 10 knots , 2 engines , 10 knots burned same amount fuel
Past season I went on a 50 mile trip , ICW here in FLA ,
running twin engines , ICW many no wake , go slow , Tried keeping it a comfortable slow plane , 16 -18 knots , 3 hours - topped off 50 gallons
Port engine blew raw water seal on pump. Discovered when we topped off fuel , No temp warning
limped back following day one engine , no PS
8 knots - took around 7 hours , Fill up same 50 gallons ,
Had a very enjoyable slow return trip ,
