So, we got the boat back from the fiberglass repair shop, and now it's LAUNCH TIME!

Any friendly tips from other Monty owners? We've bought an anchor, two fenders/lines, the Coast Guard pack...and will order the cover.

Break in tips? Equipment suggestions? What do you carry on board?

Can't wait to get it out on the water at last!

Re: Ready to Launch!

Ha, SA! Glad you saw the other post.

I swear, this summer it's like the entire universe has conspired to keep us off the water.

- DH moving his business
- Item #1 meaning messed-up back for him, pain, unable to work/drive for a week.
- The damage to the boat.
- The repair shop saying "a few days" and then keeping the boat a friggin' MONTH.
- DH's jetski unloading 2Q of oil into the hull, which meant pulling the engine before we found the problem.
- DH now focused on getting the jetski fixed, since NEXT WEEK is our annual Big Bash with the NorCal/SoCal jetski clubs.

- The latest? On Sunday, after our lovely shakedown cruise, we put the boat on the PROFESSIONALLY INSPECTED boat lift. DH had already re-worked the bunk brackets' positioning, replaced the bunk wood and bunk carpet, and replaced all the fasteners. We discovered that one of the tanks has a hole in the fiberglass, below the waterline, that was missed by the aforementioned inspector.

So we had to take the boat OFF THE LIFT on Sunday, put it back on the trailer, and call the Hydrohoist people. They now have to drag it to the launch, remove it from the water onto a trailer, and then repair the damaged tank before we can put the boat on it. Which means we won't have the boat on the "right" side of the house again until August 10th, probably.

Aaaaahhhhhh! I'm gonna cry.
