1959 lone starr

have a friend with a 1959 lone star cruiser ,no engine,all aluminum are these boats desirable its around 17ft in fair shape.

i'd love to have one, they were ahead of their time. classic lines, sturdy stable boats, Lonestar was the first to manufacter boat trailers to go with their boats. there is a 24 footer on ebay right now, but is totally striped, no windshield or side glass.

there is a strong following but certain people.

Lone Star made a lot of alum boats for a long time. Boat of choice where I grew up. Amazing how they have stood the test of time resisting corrosion and all, especially in the riveted seams.

Great boats and takes little power to run one.

Friend had a white Merc 700 (I think was the model), about mid '60's vintage and a 21ft cabin. With 4 or 5 of us and a weekend's worth of camping gear it ran along at a good clip and was smooth riding.
