Went to look at one of these today, and I'm not familiar with aluminum boats. It's basically needs a resto, but I have a specific question regarding the bottom of the hull...
The boat was sitting on a trailer. When I looked underneath, I saw that the boat has a a small (maybe an inch wide by an inch deep) riveted 'keel' running along the center of the hull on the outside. It started near the transom and ran forward to...?
At this point it looked like it 'ended' about halfway forward on the hull, and that end of it was hard up against the backside of a roller, so I couldn't see what the forward end of it looked like. It almost looked like maybe the forward 'half' of it had broken off?
Just seemed like an odd place, and an odd way for it to terminate. Any thoughts?
