Hello all,
The outboard (Merc 150 efi 2-stroke) needs about $2100 in repairs (flywheel, stator, something I can't think of + labor) and I'm not going to put that amount of $$ into an 18-year old motor, especially since my boat guy is very sure the magnet that broke off the flywheel sent filings into the motor.
That being the case, is it worth spending $12k + on a new 115 hp 4-stroke and putting it on an 18-year old boat? Given the fact that I'm never going to buy second-hand marine anything again, this seems to be the least expensive way to get back out on the water. Any advice? Thanks.
John
