Back when Glasply.net was around, I had read some good info concerning the factory switching to all glassed stringers. If I remember correctly it was 1978-1979. I have recently drug a 1980 16' model 1700 O/B home and was wondering if it also would have all glass stringers. I know it was not one of the larger more costly boats in thier line-up and could see it still having wood.
Did they still use wood in the transoms of the boats after deleting if from stringer use?
The hull's floor seems solid and the interior was original (though bad). There is some healthy sized scratches and dings into the keel and hull. When I picked it up the boat was stored slightly bow down and had water sitting in it. Should I be worried about water-logged foam in hull cavities?
Thanks for any input!
