Just wondering if anyone knows what the differences are between a 5.0 GL and 5.0 Gi engine?? Thanks in advance.

Re: Engine differences

The main difference is the GL is a carb engine and the GI is injected.

Re: Engine differences

Like CC245 mentions, the main difference is one is carburated and the other is fuel injected. The letter designation for the fuel injected is actually GXi. As far as i know, the G stands for "gas"; the L stands for "low power", as opposed to the X which stands for "extreme power". And the i stands for "fuel injection". So a 5.0 GL engine develops 220 hp, while the 5.0 GXi has 270 hp.
