Hey, Good Folks at Top Rack, here's a technical question for ya.... how do you officially say the Doral name? Is it Doral, like the word "coral"? Or, is it Doral like.... well, I'm not sure like what.... but, really could use your help here. This is important stuff!

Door Al, eh?? I've been saying it all wrong for a couple years now, I guess. I've been saying it like Coral, as in coral reef. I think there is a town in Florida called Doral. Is that how one pronounces that town, too? Anyone know where the name Doral originated? Just curious. Called my wife this past weekend and she said it was already 83 degrees in Savannah. If I were home.... we'd be out looking at the dolphins in the intercoastal... there's no place like home.... there's no place like home.... there's no pl...... It's not working.

Well Seamonkies, you got me curious, seems that the city of Doral in Dade county FL was named after a famous resort there, The Doral Golf Resort & Spa which was originally built by Doris and Alfred Kaskel, who coined "Doral" by combining their names. This makes me think they pronounce the city the way we pronounce the boat, but a Floridian could set us straight on that.
Haven't found the reason the boats got that name, but I'll continue my search and keep you updated unless someone beats me to it

I think Doral used your story when they sold the distribution to the Australian agent in 2006

Great looking boats guys here is mine, bought it at the end of summer so not much play time Its a 89 Doral Phazar 23' 454/425 hp I reside in Nova Scotia and the ice is almost gone out of the harbor wont be long now.

Hi All, I might be a tad behind on this, but I noticed how everyone was spell-pronouncing Doral. I have been corrected on numerous occasions as it is actually pronounced "Durell"...seeing as it is a French manufacturer originally, it makes sense....not to mention it sounds more SEXY lol.

Durell?!? sounds more like a Kev accent! lol Ice is off my lake and we're going up next weekend to the PPYC for the dock building party! The seasons coming and the Durells will be in the water before we know it!

First time I have ever heard of it being phrased that way. Even at the dealerships !!!
Blows my naming theory to pieces now eh !!!!

Unless of course there was a lady named "El" working at the factory and she made a mistake and was reprimanded by her supervisor with the phrase "Duh El" :facepalm:
