Ok all y'all Contender lovers I need some help. I have a 2005 25T that I recently re-powered. It had Twin Yamaha 150hp 4-strokes. I re-powered with twin Mercury 200hp Verados. Now before I get a lot of responses back saying I should have re-powered with Yamaha's let me just say "That was not an option". I would have loved to stay with Yamaha's simply to keep from having to replace gauges, throttles, etc. Anyway, the problem is, with the Mercury's I've actually lost speed (50+ with the 150's / 47 max with the 200's). You would think with an extra 100hp I should be at least in the mid 50's mph range. Also, after several attempts raising/lowering the engines it still seems to porpoise when trimmed past 1. My perfect trim with the Yamaha's was at 3-4 before it would start to porpoise. The cavitation plate just above the prop is level with the bottom of the hull. Anyone have any suggestions? I've run out of options on my end.
