i hve a 91 cobia monte carlo 17ft open bow with a v6 motor and a mercruiser outdrive.it has a quick silver shifter, the problem im having is somewhere between the shifter and the motor.when i shift into forward or reverse it wont go into gear by its self if i shift it with the motor compartment open it will move the shift arm on the motor a little bit but not enought to put it in either gear.i can shift it into fwd or rev and go back to the motor and manually shift it by pushing onto the shift arm and once in gear im good it idles up fine and runs up and down the river fine but once i go to nuetral eithr way then i have to go back and push on the shift arm on the motor and manually shift it.ive tried adusting the cables but it doesnt seem to help...not sure what to do and cant seem to find any info,,,,PLEASE HELP
