I am looking at getting into a boat to use for general use, maybe some tubing, sking, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, boating around, and possible toss a line in the water here and there. I stumbled across a 88' 178xl for $4,000... The boat seems to be in great shape, especially for its year. Is the price decent, has cover, fish finder, upgraded stereo?
The other thing that I wonder about the boat is it has the 3.0L, I would like bigger personally but will it get the job done? My assumption (and could be wrong), but we can tube and kneeboard behind grandpa's 1972 Starcraft w/ a 65hp O/B evinrude and be able to hit 29-30mph loaded up, so the 130hp rated 3.0l should be OK, right?

Anything to out for, when looking at it in person, or if I do purchase it?

Thanks for any info

A lot of money for a 23 year old boat. 3.0 would be ok, but might not. Would have to sea trial it to know for sure.
