We own a 1996 Carver Santego that has developed a terrible sewer smell inside the boat. We have replaced the hoses, emptied the tank, used odor deodorizer in the tank and the smell continues to get worse. The odor is strongest by the galley sink and in the bedroom area. Any suggestions? Should we be looking for worn seals somewhere or something else? Appreciate any help.

We found that all our sewer smell was emanating from the bottom of our toilet bowl even though #2's are generally forbidden aboard. We keep a spray bottle of bleach in the cabinet under the sink, and when the smell returns every few days, we just spray a bit in the bottom of the bowl, and it instantly disappears.

Not sure if that's a great solution for every setup, but it works for us.
