Re: Fuel consumption

Do you mean 5.0 or 5.7? We have a Carver 28, aft cabin with twin 5.0s. We use about 11 gph per engine at a cruise of 22 mph. I belive the 32 would be similar.

Thanks, The 32 has a pair of 350s. I just learned that it is a 5.7 motor.
Thanks for your response.
Salt Nick

Re: Fuel consumption

It may be a bit more on the 32, but I would bet not substantially so.

Re: Fuel consumption

Hello. I'm in the process of purchasing a 1994 Carver 32 Voyager with twin 5.7 Crusader v-drives. Does anyone know what the fuel consumption would be on this boat?

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Fuel consumption

Hi nicholsd,
I have had 2 Carver 32 Aft'S - mine have 5.7 (350 chevies) 260 Mercruisers
even with the 270 Crusaders you will get the same mileage same power.
If you are very carefull of how you drive , you will get 3/4 mpg - I averaged about 5/8 of a mile per gallon D3:D

In the process of buying a 1989 Santego 38'. I do alot of river cruising and I've never been able to figure this out. Is the best fuel consumption at cruising speed?

Re: Fuel consumption

I have a Carver 380 and use it in the ocean. I find I burn aprox the same amount of fuel going from point a to b at all reasonable speed. You have to figure out time on boat / or speed to destination. If I,M just on a boat ride I go slow and get more time per gallon. If I'm going someware I go fast.

Re: Fuel consumption

I have a 28' sleeping berth in the front. Twin Chevy Merc 305 5.0 Roch. 4 brl carbs. I went out the the Isles of Sholes one day with my in-laws and kids all total of 8 people. Not sure which way the tide was going but I filled up before we went and then when we came back. Total miles were about 32 and I put 57 Gal of gas back in.
