I am re decking the floor, storage compartments, basiclly everything that has pressure treated plywood. All of these areas are also covered with marine carpet which is trashed(torn, worn and moss growing). I would like to install new carpeting b/c I think it will look better than paint. What do you all think? Do I need to primer or paint anyway to try and make the wood last longer and would you recarpet? If I do decide to JUST paint what kind should I use? Will try to post pics later. Thanks.

Re: boat rehab ?

See the comments in your other thread about removing the PT & sealing the new non-PT pieces:
boat repair and PT wood

Marine vinyl would be a good substitute for carpet, repel water & be easy to clean.

I'd suggest you ask a moderator to merge this thread w/ your PT wood thread. That way you'll have 1 thread about the decking, sealing it & covering it, as those 3 parts of a rehab tend to run together...
