  • Opinions on 1988 Bayliner Capri

I am considering buying this boat. A 19.5 footer with a Chevy 305 V8. It's very well cared for and I was close to buying but a friend said the late 80's Bayliners were not built well. Any opinions here? Thanks

I would skip it. I owned a 1987 Bayliner from almost new. Very poorly constructed. There is no way I would buy one that is 28 years old.

      welcome aboard.

I would pass unless maybe if it was just rebuilt by an iBoats forum member. other than that if you buy it, it will be a restoration project for you

and your friend is right, mid 80's vintage bayliners are not quality boats
