Just bought a 1992 Astro S18 SF. There is a selector switch on the driver side just under the gunwale. It has symbol of a small open square and and small closed in square. What does it control?

Re: Selector Switch

I couldn't resist.
Besides, those little icons on cars get me all the time!
Gas, I get it, that little oil thing, looks like an Aladdin oil lamp to me, and why put a burning butt on the cigarette lighter?
Some of the icons on foreign cars I don't get at all...don't own one either.

Re: Selector Switch

Couldn't agree more, the selector is about 2 inches square overall, plenty of room to spell out what it does. Everything works fine so far just can't tell what this thing does.

Re: Selector Switch

Clueless!

Looks big enough to be a power, battery or fuel tank switch.
My curiosity would get the best of me and start taking it apart and trace or buzz it out.

A Simpson episode comes to mind.
Homer is in the garage and flips a switch on/off.. "I wonder what this switch does..I just don't know"
The camera pans to outside and lights "MERRY CHRISTMAS" in big lights light up the roof as he flips the switch!

Ok, ran the cable back and found it. It controls the drains for the live wells. So now we know.
