there is a reason that transom tie downs are used......hope he gets cited for unsecured load

It popped up on my admiral's facebook feed for the Ontario County Fire Wire. Supposedly got nabbed for unsecured load and following too closely. Did a lot of damage to the truck ahead of him/her, not pictured in the article. Imagine a crease in the cab roof and through the bed of that truck from the bow of the Regal.

Boy, he must have been cruising and jammed on his brakes pretty good to send that up and over his truck like that. Definitely ruined his afternoon.

I wonder if transom tie downs would have held it back, most are a rather flimsy design. I think he was using the two Nylon ropes instead. I wonder if the damn thing even had a winch strap holding it? I really would like to see if the bow stop on the winch stand was positioned properly or set located below the bow eye, allowing the boat to climb up.

That must have got the ol Heart racing?
