Have a couple of cars that I owned 30 years ago. First was a 1969 Beaumont Convertible 327 4 speed boy could that thing move. Had that till I blew the motor . Sold it and got a 74 Formula firebird 455 again very fast. When you're 18 and bullet proof these were the cars to have. Had the bird up to 140 mph

the most fun was a rally car (modified Audi 80Q with a 5-cylinder turbo) bouncing thru the woods in the UP
the next was probably the car I built in College, 1973 Opel GT with 330hp 8000 RPM V6 (0-60 in 3.2 seconds)
the most thrilling ride was a race prep'd Cadillac CTS-V with about 900hp at Blackhawk Farms (not mine)
the most power in a vehicle I ever owned was a 496 in a 1940 sedan delux
for a daily driver, i loved my V6 transplanted RX7 (did great donuts in both summer and winter)
for winter, my old Audi 90Q
for all around beater, the old PT cruiser convert with a 5-speed made a great daily whip / beach / etc. vehicle

Had an early 80's Mazda RX7's. Strange engine. 2 cylinders, 4 spark plugs and a 4 barrel carb. Small car, very light,. 5 speed, lots of power for a 2 cylinder and great gas mileage. Good car until my daughter had an argument with a telephone pole. Lots of damage to the car but she was not hurt.

I picked up the 86 RX7 because the owner installed the wrong spark plugs taking out the apex seals.

a rebuild kit with two new rotors was $1500, a rebuild motor was $1500, a used rotary was $1500

a 3.4 V6 from a t-boned camaro with only 9950 miles was $500, the custom tune from AZSM was $130 and I sold the rotary parts for $500.... other than needing to weld up a cross member, and the exhaust system (two custom pipes from a local bender), I had the car back on the road running under its own power with about 170hp in a couple of weekends.

Lets see, hard question to really answer, my first was a 426 Hemi Plymouth Satellite, thank god that gas was cheap back then, cause it could drink as much as you fed it.
My 66 Mustang with the HP 289 was fun and it was easy to work on and was fast, when I came back from duty in Hawaii, I picked up a 66 Ranchero that had a 429 in it, the HP to weight ratio on that thing made it a real scary car.
When I was stationed in Germany, I picked up a Ferrari 308, now that car was fun, especially beings I was in Germany and not far from the Autobahn, but it amazing I didn't kill myself in it.
Had a 64 Chrysler 300 that had a nice powerful motor that was fun to drive with the push button transmission and had lots of room for whatever you could think of. A 62 Dodge Dart that had a 426 Wedge in it, that was another car that had way to much horse power for the size of the car. My 68 Polaris was a nice cruiser, 440 4 barrel, nothing like hearing the throats open up on the old rochester carb.
My Rx7 was fun, bought that from my friend who was a drag racer and won over 200 NHRA events in his drag car the Samurai Warrior, the motor in the RX 7 was stout for a rotor engine, but had to rebuild that thing ever three months, the apex seals did not work out great.

I have had a lot of fun cars over the years, and because of many of them, I am lucky to still be alive, some were scary and some were comfortable, but they all have a place in my past.

Wont say it was the funnest, but a 71 pinto was the first one i ever did an engine overhaul on. A 71 Chev Pickup with the 350 was always working on it, tried to build it to run but it never performed like i wanted it to.
