Is there a Rustoleum paint or other that will protect zinc plated bolts in a marine environment?

I messed up and used zinc plated bolts to secure the swim platform. Only the bolt heads are exposed but they are already showing signs of rust. If there’s nothing that will protect them, I’ll have to pull them.

Nope.....and big box “stainless” will not suffice.

You want 316 stainless steel hardware that have been passivated, if possible.

316 Stainless. Got it.

Darn, that was a stupid mistake on my part. Oh well, another lesson learned.

Thanks for the quick responses!

Yes, use 316 Stainless Steel Fasteners with Loctite LB 8009 Anti Seize. If/when you take it off,it wont gald the fittings and makes removal easier.
