Want semigloss paint but house came with LOTS of flat!

And boy does this flat paint suck up every stain, from dogs, simple spills, you name it.
I always had semi gloss for easy cleanups, but house came with LOTS of extra flat and some semi gloss just for trim - I'd think it would look odd to only paint with semi gloss to waist high, ideas??

Flat paint makes a great base coat. If you like the color of the old paint, use if for a first coat. Have your paint store match the color in an eggshell, satin, semi-gloss..whatever. A gallon of shiny paint will cover a lot of area over the same/similar color base. You can roll it on very thin. You just want to wet the wall with it.

Flat does wonders hiding imperfections in the walls.

Changed the laundry room from flat to eggshell. Spent a better part of two days skim coating the walls...Satin is'nt too bad either

Well as I have so much spare paint, I just got done repainting, match is perfect, so what the heck, use what I have for now and save some money
