As many know, I had to replace a broken spring in my wife's subaru a while back, now I have torn it apart and trying to do both new springs and figured I would do struts at the same time. Well when I did just the one spring because of the broken one, had no problem getting it back together, the strut was weak, which of course led me to do both front struts. Got everything out, strut and spring assembled with no problem, now can't get it back in with the new strut!
The bottom mount on the strut drops below the level of the bolt holes on the car mount and I can't seem to get the control arm down far enough to get them lined up?
I was looking at it thinking I can remove the sway bar link and that would allow the control arm to drop a bit more, install the bottom bolts of the strut and then reinstall the sway bar link.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
