Yo VPM, thanks for the update! Glad this thread didn't die. :D

I've been really busy with non-boat related stuff too.

Put my little tractor to work after I got the right sized toplink. Used the bush hog on a test run... no greenery around here right now though. Borrowed a boxblade from a buddy and that thing is coming in REAL handy. Been doing some work with it and learning how to make best use of the machine. Spending time on a tractor forum, getting good info.

Broke up with my girlfriend 10 days ago. Ugh. Saw her for a minute yesterday and she realizes that she made a HUGE mistake. Dunno what will happen with all that.

Went to the doc today for my 2nd post-op exam since my fifth vocal cord surgery in July 2009. No new boo-boos! That is some GOOD news! I now have an appointment for next month to have some stuff injected into the vocal cords to help "plump" them up and hopefully get some of my old voice back. It's not a permanent fix though... I'll have to go back a couple times a year for retreatment.

Took my Audi in for service today too... it has 2 recalls and one of them requires the car to stay overnight. Got a new-car loaner and all I will say is that it makes me appreciate the Audi all that much more!

My youngest daughter graduated with an A.S. degree in pastry arts last week. Way cool stuff.

Weather is still coolish, so I haven't been boat motivated lately. But that time will come again!

Hijack

for the past week I have had daily deliveries of parts for the boats :D

Yesterday I got in the new GLM Manifolds and Risers, I can't believe the difference between my old Merc units with 3" risers and the 4" GLM units.
IMG00349.jpg

IMG00347.jpg

Man what a difference, its very obvious looking inside the manifold its designed to evacuate the exhaust gases much better than the Merc units.
The 4" riser water ports are set up a heck of a lot better than the old 3" helping to prevent reversion :)

Everything is now in to build the new engine, right down to the paint. Now all I have to do is go pick up the block from the machine shop and get to work

HIJACK!

Morning feeding time...

A family of quail started visiting my bird feeder last summer/fall. The chicks look like they're just about old enough to start their own families soon.

Always nice seeing them here in the mornings and evenings.

Here's a pic of them using my old camera in Sept 2009... not the highest QUAILity! :D
But I thought it was neat to see one of the parents standing guard on my front stair railing.

And here's this morning with my new camera... better!

That is Real Cool, I the past mornings I have had some Cardinals, Blue Jays, and a family of starlings.
P.S quail are good eating :D:eek: No but really they are lol

Ok Now its time for me to Hijack

I have been out grinding on the boat getting ready to finish off the fiberglass work and my mind wondered to the visit I had from an out of town friend yesterday. Why is it that especially living in new york with a population of something like 10 million people always say something to the effect of "I work with Joe Schmo he is also from NY" Loke I'm really supposed to know him lol

Another statement that came form him was Joe Schmo, his brother was a Hit Man for the Mob BUT GOT KILLED. My thought He Must have been a lousy hit man .

I mean come on, were not all connected to organized crime and we don't know everyone in New York State!!!!!

Well I'd love to write more but I have to go clean my guns LOL

Re-HIJACK!
And here they are in the afternoon feed & watering shots for today.

I have seen as many as 15 quail, plus 2 dozen mourning doves at the feeder simultaneously.

Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

Hijack!

I got one of these RC camera "spy" planes today. Already broke the 3 props that came with it, but only got a few pix and one video.

The radio is two-channel rudder and "throttle" control. I chose not to install the landing gear because I don't have a smooth surface around here anyway. I just bring it in for a belly landing on the turf.

The rudder moves full over, left or right, whenever the joystick is moved. Gotta do the "tap-tap-tap" thing to make gentle turns. Fortunately, I actually learned to fly R/C on a single-channel pulse proportional system, so didn't have any problems.

The throttle is actually a two-speed on/off setup, with forward on the stick being full throttle and rearward being "cruise" speed. The middle position is off.

Trying to fly the thing around my yard with all the trees was challenging, but fun! After I get some new props, I'll post more pix/video.

Pretty neat toy for $70.

This is the plane.

Here's a pic and video that I took today with this neat little aircraft.

Thanks! I did manage to find a replacement prop for it today, but it's too big and the plane is having problems gaining altitude. However, it was the closest propsize that the hobby shop had, so I had to take the chance. Might also be able to change the thrust line upward a smidge to help a little too. The plane is definitely over-propped and the engine isn't spinning up to max speed.

I'll keep searching online for the correct part, but here's a very short video that I took with it this afternoon.
