Hey...did anyone catch Mythbusters last night?

They were trying to bust the myth about the blond in the Bayliner whose boat wouldn't go fast because she still had the trailer attached.

They did their experiment with a skiff type boat with an outboard. They strapped the trailer to the boat then took the trailer off the ball. Guess what....? It actually floated and then they ran it at about 4 -5 mph according to their GPS.

Could the blond myth be true?????

OK, this is either an error in judgement or preception and maybe both. ;) What is left of Bomars' hair is definetly not blonde.

Re: Trailer Still Attached to Boat - Mythbusters

While trying to find a leak on my 15' aluminum I backed the boat into the water with the trailer still attached to the boat. I backed it in to far and before I knew it the boat and trailer was drifting off to the side.
The trailer is designed for a glass boat and is fairly heavy. The boat didn't have a problem picking the trailer up and i'm sure I could have forged across the lake with it still attached.

You're supposed to take the trailer off?

Hmmm...if you leave the trailer on, it'd be much easier on the paint with one of those "hard groundings"...just roll right over the bar...

Alrighty then! How about the myth that Baldness is a sign of intellegence. :D Oh, no. Would that be highjacking the thread? ;)
