First it was Cup, then it was X-Men and this weekend it's Trucks with back to back races over two days, Friday and Saturday. This chunk of COVID scheduling begins with a Cup race Thursday evening. Thursday through Saturday should be rain free according to my darts. The schedule from MRN;

News and Notes
- Remember when every race was preceded with practice and qualifying sessions? The rest of the season won't be having any of those. Nascar is happy with how racing has been without Ps and Qs.
- When playoffs begin there will be a change in setting the field, yet to be announced. What has been done is the 12 top finishers in the preceding race drew lots for the 1st 12 spots, then the same for 13-24 finishers, 25-36 and finally the rest. I predict the playoff drivers will be in the first draw regardless of finishing position of the last regular season race. The heck with the rest of the field, they are losers.
- Iowa Speedway rumors - There has been talk of the track closing or being put up for sale. It's been losing money and the only 2020 race is the IndyCar double header last weekend. Now a new rumor involves Roger Penske buying or renting the track. :noidea: The track was designed by former Penske driver Rusty Wallace, maybe that's the Penske attraction.
- Crew chief for #24 William Byron, Chad Knaus, will miss the Kansas race for the birth of his second child. He has not missed in 464 races since 2007 and will be replaced by veteran crew chief Keith Rodden who last led the #5 team of Kasey Kahne, including his last win at The Brickyard on 7/23 in 2017. What date is the Cup race this weekend? Mmmmm
- Related to Knaus - Jimmie Johnson has not changed his mind about retiring at the end of this season.
- Best Texas post-race driver comment - "I now know what a turkey feels like on Thanksgiving Day sitting in an oven."
- TV ratings - Texas averaged a 1.7 rating and 2.73 million viewers on NBCSN, tying the lowest rating in race history (dates back to 1997) and marking its smallest audience since at least 2001. Keep in mind that this year marked just the second time that the race has aired on cable.

- First we had a tie, then we didn't. During the race, Nascar fouled up the garage closing during the Texas race. They fessed up and took everyone's lowest scoring driver and stuck them in the garage. Long story short, our winner is justkiddin 5 for his 2nd :first: this year. Congrats, JK.
- Our overall leader is still FlaCowboy.
- BTW - we didn't lose a driver use for Texas. That was nice of them and they will attempt the AVIS car rental slogan. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=avis+slogan
- iFL rosters lock at 7:25 PM ET on Thurs..................looks at time .....Today.
