The official temps today don't read this high, but I got consistent readings at 100 most all afternoon here.

We'll be back in the upper 90s again today. 76% humidity, and the dew point is gonna' shove the relative number up.

You can see small rainclouds start to form up above us in places, but the temps just don't get down far enough to tip the bucket over.

I worked in the Steel industry my entire life, most of it in the Blast Furnace dept. I can tell you it's been Blast Furnace hot in southern Ontario for the last 3 weeks. The heat broke yesterday after thunderstorms all day Sunday, but most importantly the humidity has left us. Having worked in ridiculously hot environments my whole life I can tell you 95F and dry is more bearable than 85F and humid. Once you get into 100 degree temps it's next to impossible to do anything including breathing well.

St. John's, St. John, I know 1 is in New Brunswick and the other one isn't. Which one is yours?

"St. John's, St. John, I know 1 is in New Brunswick and the other one isn't. Which one is yours?" The "other one" in Newfoundland. As about as far east as you can get in North America.

After a few 10-15 degree ave colder that normal Summers, we are having a slightly warmer than usual this year. Humidity is making it nasty.

Yesterday the new record for the hottest place on this Earth was in Death Valley. It reached 130 degrees yesterday. So not going there for sure...:faint2:

But if you look at the hottest days recorded, there was a lot of extremely hot days in the past that were a hundred years ago. Hum.... So maybe not as Earth shattering as it initially seems. But I haven't lost anything in Death Valley for me to go there...

Funny thing about this new RECORD. Seem it has been hotter then this beyond 90 years ago. So how can this be some new record? I guess old record heat doesn't count towards the new climate change scenario... Go figure!

The hottest I saw was when I was stationed in the Australian outback. Got up to 128 degrees F, right around Christmas time. :flame:

Dunno' how much I'd enjoy that kinda' heat in the summer. But I do enjoy the time I've spent out in the desert (usually in the fall). Still thinking about a horse trip across Monument Valley someday.

It's been in the upper 80s to mid 90s here the last week or so. That about the norm for us. Evenings have been surprisingly pleasant down around the low 70s.

On the flip side, the coldest I've ever experienced was -35 below in Anchorage, Alaska. And while that is cold, I'd rather take the cold then the extreme heat. You can add clothing, but you can only take off only so much... And some shouldn't take off anything either!

^^^ My brother in law was deployed that direction a couple years back, and we have a family friend over there now. I'd be a mess.
