Today a fan-less X-Race and tomorrow 5000 socially distant fans for the Cup race. So far only Cup races are projected to have reduced attendance with the size determined by the states and still no fans for X-Races and Trucks.
I'm not sure about fans at most races, but Texas next month will allow Cup socially distant fans. Don't know the size, but TMS president Eddie Gossage explained the reasoning behind fan-less X-Men and Truck races - If any attendees are reported sick then everything is shutdown by the state. So they are trying their best. I don't do this normally, but Eddie Gossage is responding to a lot of fan tweets and appears to be honestly explaining the situation - His personal twitter account if you want to see how a promoter works, https://twitter.com/eddiegossage
Weather today and tomorrow is temps around 90 and the chance of pop-up showers. Here is the schedule from MRN;

News and Notes
- 2021 Hall of Famers - Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mike Stefanik are the two Modern Era choices and in the Pioneer Era top vote getter is Red Farmer. The story on Nascar
- Corey Lajoie and Denny Hamlin have been in a Twitter feud started during the iRacing shutdown. It got so bad that both were called to the hauler at Homestead after Hamlin threatened to crash LaJoie in real racing. Autoweek has a breakdown.
- If anyone remembers Alex Zanardi, this is sad news - Racer Alex Zanardi seriously injured in handbike accident
- COVID-19 - Dale Jarrett diagnosed with a mild case, doing well and 2 SHR shop guys have been diagnosed too.
- No All-Star race at Charlotte this year. It's moving to Bristol on July 15th. I think rotating the All-Star to different tracks is a good idea, but will it return to Charlotte permanently after COVID? :noidea:
- All-Star races are used by Nascar to try new things. This year it's moving the car number from center of the "door" back to ahead of or behind the rear wheel opening. Why the test? To make a larger branding area for sponsors. You would think Nascar proposed peddle car racing. :doh: Two possibilities;
- Some of the smaller teams are having a cash-crunch in the new COVID world and some sponsorship money is drying up.
- Homestead penalties - Only loose lugnuts and fines.
- No practice or qualifying for this Dega race and a new lower horsepower motor and aero package. What can go wrong?
- TV ratings - Once again no way to compare to earlier years, but 2.48 million viewers for Homestead.

- Tiz won iFL racing at Homestead. He joins the growing list of two-time winners this year - 4 two timers in 12 races. Congrats, Tiz. :first:
- Tiz also took over the top spot on the iFL leaderboard.
- This iFL race has the extra $10K bonus for the highest scoring roster.
- iFL rosters lock at 2:55 PM EST on Sunday.
Good luck and stay safe,
