This is new language defining the DQ rule which has been in force all year.

Today's first practice results 10 fastest are Bowman after a driveshaft change, then Busch1, Harvick, Byron, Johnson, Blaney, Newman, Keso, Bowyer and Hamlin.

Next practice is after X-Quals and Cup qualifying is after the X-Race.

Post-race inspection DQ's another one.

Christopher Bell finished 3rd in the X-Race. That is until they checked ride height of the top 5 finishers and some random cars. Bells car was too low in front and too high in the right rear.

When will a Cup car be DQ'ed?

All but one car passed pre-race inspection. The #22 of Tifft failed the 1st time and passed the 2nd time. He will start at the rear.

The field is set and rosters lock at 2:55 EST for the race start at 3PM.

Byron in the #24 is starting at the back because of an motor change yesterday. He qualified in the 11th spot.

And watch out for pop-up showers.

Severe T-storms are getting closer. The start of the race has been moved up from 3:14 to 3:02. Not sure those 12 minutes will help.

The wind is destroying an NBC booth in the pits and shredding a cover. Just like my boat cover!

Looking at the radar, we are probably done for the day, thunder head over them, two more coming from the west and a bunch of weather coming from the north. It is ugly there.

They were able to run 12 laps.🤔

I was listening on MRN. It was interesting hearing them announce the approach of the storm and the first strikes of lightning.

That wind destroyed our peonies!

TMI! LOL

The wind tore up a few pit boxes and took off several car covers. Harvick and Wallace cars looked like they were Saran wrapped under the covers.

Covers coming off and it looks like we may take another shot at it.

Racin'

Hamlin won 1st heat.

Only 1 real caution so, excluding the rain yellow to red.

Harvick leading 2nd heat with Johnson and Elliott close behind.

Harvick wins heat 2. Elliott 2nd and Larson 3rd. Some good racing up front.

Now it's a question of beating the rain to get in a full race.
