Dave - Even with the Members numbers blacked out it isn't a good thing to post a pic like this. TMI and too many bad people out there.

We believed you. Live long and prosper.

Come on, I just about had all the information copied!!!!!

:D

Well, I felt OK with the Photoshop black outs. harringtondav or the real me are pretty close. But G.A. and Ted got me spooked. The pic was mainly a comment on one card vs. three. I'll ditch the pic once I know how.

Well Happy Birthday I guess...

Thx...I guess. Late Dec. SS and Medicare take some of the sting from reality. A coworker retired early saying he wanted to enjoy the company pension for as long as it took him to earn it. That will be a stretch for me. Near impossible for the Govt. goodies.

My wife has run her own internet company for over 20 years now, never post anything in a picture you don't want the world to see, the scammers have so many ways to take what we think is innocent information and exploit it..

Also, I was just kidding and having fun!

Live long brother. Soak em good! I'm sure you earned it.
42 hard years in construction, I just started my second year of retirement. Still on my union medical for now. Can't complain. Good pension, good medical.
I had an uncle that was on his NYC pension for many many years. My cousin made me laugh, he said he was afraid they were going to send the hit squad after him

I chose a Medicare Advantage plan. It's not for everyone because you may not be able to keep your doctor but there are real financial advantages. I pay way less ($0) than my mother who stayed on Medicare with a UHC supplement plan (~$300/mo). Unless you really want to keep your doctor, you may want to check them out before Dec 7.
Ask your doctor if he/she is a member of any of the advantage plans like Humana, Aetna, BC/BS, etc.

Thx. I'm signed up with Blue Cross Medicare Blue Supplement. Time will tell, and I have an issue that will test it. There is always next Dec. to reset with another provider. I'm not in love with any GP. They've moved on regularly for the last four yrs. It's the heavy lifting specialists I wan't to stick with.

It all depends what you want out of your insurance, and how much risk you're comfortable assuming yourself. In gross terms, typically original medicare (part A+B) combined with a supplement plan will offer a higher level of coverage, with a higher monthly premium.

Advantage plans typically have low or no monthly premiums, and will sometimes include additional benefits such as dental or drug coverage. However, you are locked in a network, and can potentially face higher out of pocket costs.

My wife and I are part of a shrinking "fortunate few" that still have a defined retirement plan. Pension, good UHC insurance to age 65, and now "Retiree Medical Credits". This is cash in an account to pay for Part B, supplemental plans and out of pocket co-pays, etc.

I ain't crowing, just grateful and lucky. Our 'RMCs' will more than cover our premiums and historic out of pockets. They roll over and accumulate. Which is good, since staying alive and healthy will cost more as we age. Our game is to stay fit as long as possible to delay burning through those credits.

There is no "luck" involved when collecting a pension you earned with hard work. I am going on my 19th year of collecting a pension I earned from the Steel plant. I just turned 64. I've been told how lucky I am. I guess I was lucky to work all those Christmases and holidays and the 3 shifts with rotating days off. Maybe you got 6 weekends off a year. I had to get a shift change to be in my brothers wedding then double back in at mid night, yea real lucky.

I'm not sure I understand what the edited pic is all about. I was told years ago don't put anything into your PC that you wouldn't put in a basket at the end of your driveway for all to see. If foreign powers can get into our Gov. computers and voting systems anyone with a bit of skill can get into ours. My VISA card was compromised last month, what a pain.

Enjoy your retirement Sir, you earned it.
