The Enola Gay Declassified Photos

This is an unbelievable set of photos - the REAL thing - pix from
Tinian Island as the B-29 "Enola Gay" was being loaded.

Notice the "Top Secret" stamp on some of the photos. In the last few
Pix notice the CRUDE sheet metal work on the casing and fins
of "Little Boy" - the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima.

I do realize that some people think these bombs were so very wrong to use. I am not one of them though. It put a total stop to an unprovoked war. And in the long run, saved so many lives otherwise. JMHO

I got a chance to peek through a bunch of the de-classified stuff for the MP a few years ago. Makes driving through Oak Ridge and Knoxville MUCH more interesting some days.

Wild that such a small device can cause such destruction. Even more wild it was all designed with a pencil and paper.

^^^ You should see the reactor they generated the nuke from. All analog. Unreal, when you wrap your head around it.
