This long season is about to end after 36 Cup races starting back in February. By Sunday afternoon we will have crowned the three 2018 champions. The highest placing playoff driver in each series in the Truck, X-Men and Cup will be the series champ.

Truck playoff drivers are Brett Moffitt, Justin Haley. Johnny Sauter and Noah Gragson. The X-Men playoff drivers are Cole Custer, Daniel Hemric and rookies Christopher Bell and Tyler Reddick. In Cup we have three prior champions in The Twerp, Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr., then Joey Logano trying to win his first championship.

Weather does look good for South Florida when it's cold and snowy over much of the country. 39 drivers are on the Cup entry list. The schedule from MRN;

News and Notes
  • For the final report, pickin's are slim but sad. Three time Nascar Winston Cup champion David Pearson passed away this week at 83. He won 105 races, second only to Richard Petty. RIP
  • Phoenix post-race penalties - only 2 cars with loose or missing lugnuts.
  • TV Ratings - Once again not good, but one of the higher ratings this year. The Phoenix race on NBC pulled a 2.0 with 3.31M viewers. 2017 was 2.2, 6.64M viewers and 2016 got a 2.4 and 4.03M viewers. I guess football and racing don't mix.

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • Tiz won at Homestead with 45 points over FlaCowboy. He pasted us. :smile: Congrats, Tiz. 🏆
  • The overall standings are close. Trackchicks Stars is on top with 1458 points, followed by FlaCowboy with 1452 points. Watch out for bones and sauce on the track!
  • iFL pole locks at 6:05 PM tomorrow after a single practice early afternoon.

Humpty_Boater - Until February when we start over. :D

The only pre-qualifying practice is finished. Playoff drivers Truex and Twerp were fastest, then Bowyer and Elliott and playoff driver Harvick were the 5 fastest. Joey was way down in 16th fastest.

The pole locks at 6:05.

Just noticed Humpty left Sunday off the MRN schedule. The dolt!

Sunday, November 18

Radio Pre-Race: 1:30 p.m. (MRN)
TV Pre-Race: 1:30 p.m. (NBC)
Xfinity Series Ford EcoBoost 400: 2:30 p.m. (MRN/NBCSN)

Pole sitters usually take the first pit stall to get a straight shot to the pit road exit. Hamlin choose box #4 which has an open pit in front. This allowed his Gibbs teammate who qualified 2nd to choose the first pit box. The Twerp is starting second. Wonder if Gibbs has issued some team orders?

Humpty must be celebrating a bit to much this weekend, because it says Xfinity for Sunday! And the times would overlap the Cup on Sunday, unless Nascar changed the rules and each series is going to go opposite ways around the track at the same time!

:facepalm:

MRN also has the wrong broadcaster for Cup race. It's on NBC, not NBCSN.

Fixed it;

The last Cup practice of the year is history. The 5 fastest are Joey, Truex, Keso, Jones and Almirola. Playoff drivers Joey and Almirola were 1, 2 and The Twerp was 121th and Harvick 14th. Rosters lock at 2:58 PM.

X-Race coming at 3:30. Cole Custer is on the pole chasing a championship.

If I were a betting man, I would be dropping a couple of hundred on Joey, he has a different focus this last couple of weeks than the other three, it is like he has turn the laser beams on and it ready to step up and take what he feels has been his for a while now.

Custer wind the 2nd heat. And he's in 2nd place behind Reddick by more than 6 seconds. Reddick is driving for the championship.

Joey, Truex, The Twerp or Harvick - Who will be this season's champ? The X-Race yesterday was caution free, don't think that will be the case today.
