We're down to the final 4 races of this overly long season. Cup and Trucks only, X-men have the week off. Eight drivers are still in the hunt after 4 were eliminated last week at Kansas. The playoff standings;

kansaspoints.PNG

Only Elliott, Almirola and The Twerp have playoff wins since the other 2 playoff race winners, Blaney and Keso, missed the cut. 40 teams are entered. Friday's weather looks like wet all day, improving on Saturday and late rain on Sunday. Remember - I am not a weatherman. :rain: Look , my butt is getting soaked! :lol: Here is the weekend schedule;

  • Comcast has dropped plans to buy a chunk of Nascar following the purchase of SkyUK. So the Frances' will be in control for a while.
  • TV ratings - A 1.8 on NBC, an uptick from last year's 1.6 on NBCSN.

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • Boating for Nascar gets to pick through the trophy closet. Fasteddie370 is holding onto the overall lead.
  • Pole locks at 4:pM ET on Saturday after the Truck race.

Nothin' doin' at Martinsville today. Both Truck practices have been cancelled so they will qualify tomorrow with no practice unless the schedule is changed. Tomorrow may be iffy as well. From Nascar via Jayski's:

AccuWeather forecast for Martinsville for Saturday: Morning fog. High 61, low 44, 25% chance rain (truck race 1:07, Cup qualifying 4:05), .... Sunday High 65, low 43, 7% chance rain (Cup race 2:43pm)

Today the sun came out at Martinsville. Cup got the two scheduled practices in and Truck qualified with no prior practice cuz of the washout yesterday.

The 1st Cup practice results - Top 5 were Keso, BuschX1, The Twerp, Blaney and Almirola.
2nd practice results - Top 5 were Newman fastest over Elliott, The Twerp, Keso and Allmendinger.

Pole locks at 4PM ET after the Truck race which is on tap at 1:07 on FS1.

Sauter sweeps at Martinsville and takes all three heats and a lock for Homestead for a chance of a Truck Championship.

Cup qualifying at 4PM.

The #48 got a sponsor for 2019 and 2020 - Ally Financial. Gonna seem strange not to see Lowes on the JJ's car.

64osby will stay 5 points ahead of me as long as we don't pull a backup out of the garage. We have the same picks, but 64 choose The Twerp for the pole and I didn't. :blue:
