News and Notes
  • Maybe Lowes isn't done with Nascar? Hendrick/Lowes are discussing a limited sponsorship. Guessing for the #48.
  • No penalties, major anyway, at Vegas.
  • No confirmed drive changes - Yet.
  • Dale Jr. is back in the saddle. He is in the #88 for the X-Race tomorrow night. In 7 X-Starts at Richmond, he has 5 wins. Is he a BuschWhacker?
  • TV ratings - The opening playoff round at Vegas got a 1.3 while last year the 1st Chase race got a 1.4 at Chicago.

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • The inaugural iFL, the first one ever, playoff race was won by Smokin'!, our own aspeck, who is now forever inscribed in the record books. How does it feel to be famous, 'speck? :D Congrats and a wheel chock for you. 🏆
  • Obviously, the overall leader over FlaCowboy is 'speck. No calculator was needed to figure this out.
  • Pole locks at 6PM ET tomorrow.

Keso, winner of 3 races in a row, was the fastest in the last practice before qualifying this evening. Rain delayed Cup and X-Practice, but the pole lock is still at 6 ET.

Ryan Newman is moving to Roush Fenway with a 3 year deal to replace Trevor Bayne at the end of this season.

Lowes says NO! And thanks for the memories.

Bell takes the X-Pole. Dale Jr. is starting second.

Harvick wins the pole. Hamlin starts second, then, Truex, Blaney, Suarez, Busch1, Almirola, Keso, Jones, Larson, Custer and The Twerp.

From Bob Pockrass;

Matt Kenseth was coy when asked about the Roush Fenway announcement set for Saturday that, according to a source, will be Ryan Newman in the No. 6 car next year. When asked what that means for his plans and whether he still wants to race, he smiled and said, "Find out tomorrow."

Tomorrow is supposed to be the Newman announcement. Is something about Kenseth coming too?

JR Motorsports drivers are Sadler and Allgaier. Both in the playoffs and Allgaier just passed the boss!

The boss is working on the employee. Some good early racing between Allgaier and Jr.

Jr needs to step the pace up and cause the leader to use his equipment up so his cars can come on strong at the end...sounds like a plan to me...:D
