Could not go boating today because of the heavy smoke so watched the Indy cars at Pocono and that dang track almost claimed another one, Robert Wickens one of the new up commers in the 9th lap touched Hunter-Ray and ended up in the catch fence spinning like a top. Basically all that was left was the tub, tore the nose off the car, the back off the car and skidded over Hunter-Ray car close enough to take the in car camera off Rays car, he is not going to be racing for a while..

Bad crash, They took a long time to get him out of the car and would not release much information, so it was scary to say the least.

His team released;

"Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver Robert Wickens is being treated for injuries to his lower extremities, right arm and spine following an incident in the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. He also sustained a pulmonary contusion. He will undergo an MRI and probable surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest."

These are serious injuries from one of the most violent motorsports crashes ever. It will be a long before he gets back in a car if he can. He was looking at a really promising career.

Just read a report on his condition, both ankles broke, broke an arm, cardiac contusion and lung contusion and a possible fractured back, he is not going to be behind the wheel of a race car for a long time.

Praying that Wickens recovers.
