38 Cup teams have signed up to turn left and right this week, including some drivers that know how to turn right. No rain delays are forecast.


News and Notes

• Michigan penalties if it means anything. The Twerp, Hamlin and Jones were given an L1 penalty for splitter violations. Yawn when they weren't DQ'ed.
• Nascar is looking beyond next year for a new sponsor as Monster swirls down the drain. I heard that Apu's Kwik-E-Mart has the inside track but Moe's Tavern may be the dark horse. :facepalm:
• The All-Star restrictor plate and aero package will not be used in any of the remaining 2018 races as previously announced. 2019 is now the planned target to dumb down racing.
• I heard that X-Men and Trucks raced last weekend. Don't know who won.
• Whats a Toyota/Save Mart? Some new model coming out?
• Michigan TV ratings were predicted to be a bright spot since they on Fox instead of FS1. 2.2 vs 2.0 last year. Better but still kinda dismal.

• We had a 1st time winner at Michigan. Tiz took the marbles and gets our congrats. And this shiny bauble.
• FlaCowboy is on top of the overall leader board, holding a 192 point lead over Trackchick Stars.
• Pole picks lock on Saturday at 2:40 PM ET. Qualifying has been on Friday, so this is a change, along with qualifying is the final Cup on-track activity before the race on Sunday.

Qualifying finished and the cars are being impounded.

Kyle Larson wins the pole, with Truex, Elliott, McMurray, The Dinger, Harvick, Johnson, Byron, The Twerp, Keso, Blaney and Joey rounding out the top 12.

No 5 point bonus for me today, 1 for 16.

Race roster locks at 2:55 PM ET for tomorrows race.

Shouldn't be? I wish there were more than 2, soon to be 3, road races.

Kinda half paid attention to the Truck race last night - Justin Haley scored his first ever Truck win. The Twerp wasn't in the race at Gateway, so the kid had a chance and took the lead at the very end.

Truex wins again in a pretty uneventful road race. Other than the 2 end of heat cautions, only one more for The Dinger blowing up.

Da Rowdy Gambler is the early iFL winner, 6 points over FlaCowboy. Final results on Tuesday while waiting for the next race at Chicago and the start of NBC coverage.
