2007 FJ Cruiser, 99,000 miles, fully loaded w/ every aval. option + a few of my own:D. 3" lift 285-70/17 BFG KM2 tires:D. I'm not sure of the towing cap. I'll need to look that up, but I'm only towing a 17' Bayliner bowrider. Can't even feel it back there, well, less the hitch banging every now & then.

Pull the '99 Four Winns Horizon 240 with an '03 Chevy 2500 4x4 4 door long bed.

I'm longer than 18 wheelers pulling a 28' pup. And man is that a heavy boat! Even with the Vortec 6.0 you know she's back there.

I've been building baby Jeeps for years and I've never heard of anyone putting a diesel that big in one... Awesome!

That being said, what size boat? I know it can be done if you're careful but that CJ5 has an awful short wheelbase (even for the little Jeeps) that can get real interesting in any kind of panic maneuver with a heavy trailer.

Re: What do you pull your boat with?

might be overkill for my boat but i always say bigger is better, plus i eventually want to get a bigger boat. my tow rig is a 2000 F250 Super Duty CCSB with the 7.3 diesel.

Re: What do you pull your boat with?

1997 F350 4x4, 460, 5spd manual granny tranny, 3:55 ratio. My boat is a 1993 Trophy 2003CC 20' center console on a steel trailer. Not sure how much it weighs. The truck is no new diesel, but it'll move anything from a dead stop and pulls hardest from 1800-2500rpm; rarely shift close to or over 3000. I notice it a little bit, but then again I expect everything to feel like a rocketship. Why it has 3:55's I have no idea; every truck of this nature...especially gassers should have a 4:10 in my opinion. According to the manual, towing capacity for that truck is 6,900 pounds....underrated ya think??
