Re: What do you pull your boat with?

Okay, that was my assumption, meaning his can't be a 2006 right? Sorry, just one of the things I notice, being a "car person".

His is probably an 06. you have to look at the lights head-on facing the grille to be able to tell. the taillights changed to some ugly design in 07, i believe it was. other than that, cosmetically they are the same. just headlights and interior was all that changed from 05 to 06.

The '06 headlights are much larger, and actually come up over the fender more on top then the earlier style. Definately would see the difference at that angle.

I pull my 1988 Bayliner Capri 1950 with a 02 Ford Explorer Sport Trak 4.0 V6 or my 97 S10 Blazer 4.3 V6 4wd. Both pull no problem but the ford gets about 5 mpg less when towing, the blazer doesn't change or maybe 1-2 mpg if anything.
Weighed boat when i got it, 3060lbs with 1/2 tank of gas and a little on board extras (spare tire, extra parts, ect)

I pull my 1986 Four Wins (21') Liberator with my Chevy 2500 HD Ext. cab, does a fine job. Wife has an H3, which pulls is bareely. Boat is heavy in tail end so the truck works much better.

I pull my Regal 2400 LSR with my wife's Nissan Armada. I have tried to pull it with my '04 F-150 Triton 5.4, and it pulled just fine on the open road, but the lack of weight in the back of the vehicle made getting up the steep wet ramp a little challenging. Armada crawls it out of the water just fine.

Re: What do you pull your boat with?

2004 Toyota 4Runner Limited with the V-6.

Towed a 15' Chrysler with a 90 merc from upstate NY to D.C. no problems. Close to 20 MPG on the freeways.

Just bought a 1984 VIP 17' bowrider with a 115 Johnson on a Shoreland'r trailer, about 2600 lbs. Only made a 60 mile trip when I bought it earlier this week. Waiting right now for the new Marathon radials and hit the road for Connecticut. First real test for this trailer and vehicle but I think the truck should be fine. Just leave a lot of stopping distance.
