I have always had Attwood actuators in the past but my newer boat has a UFP actuator and it has a noticeable clunk when coming to a stop and when I start to drive off. I'm not sure if it's a bad actuator, bad shock, air in the lines or just normal operation. I am able to push the actuator inwards by hand but not very easily and it springs forward when I release it so I am assuming it's not the shock

Agree on bleeding the brakes for major clunking. I've also improved the minor clunking/groaning by lubricating the roller shafts. These are the two shafts that have circlips on either side. Mine came ungreased new. With the trailer on the trailer jack they slide right out when you remove one of the circlips.
