How long does a torsion axle last before the rubber breaks down and the axle is junk? I’m looking at a 10 year old 7,000 pound trailer with tandem axles. California fresh water trailer loaded right and taken care of by a buddy. It is priced right but not if I will need to buy two fresh axles soon. I heard they go bad as the get old. IDK I never had a torsion trailer.

My 92 5th wheel RV that weighs in at about 8,000 pounds is not showing any signs of going bad and I have towed it close to 35,000 miles over the last 15 years.

Aluminum snowmobile trailers tend to last pretty much forever, as long as you replace the deck every so often. My current one is 20+ years old, and still has the original axle. They really don't seem to degrade much, and they ride so much better than a leaf sprung trailer!
