the wheel on my trailer is broken to jack the boat up. Not only that is very corroded. Seems like it is just easier to probably swap the whole jack out as it just bolts. I have a 1983 Montauk 17, I would assume the boat weights about 1700lb. The old lift also raises about 24 inches.

i am attaching on I saw at harbor freights it says it is 1500lbs. Is that the tongue weight or the whole trailer?

First pic is a pic of current tongue and second one is one they have in the store. What is the advantage of the two wheels?

That Jack only has to lift/support the tongue weight, which should be about 10% of boat/trailer weight...

A 1700# jack will work fine.

Why 2 wheels - If you jack up on soft ground two wheels spread the load. I've had 1 and 2 wheelers and on concrete didn't see much difference. On dirt, 2 wheels seem to roll a little better, but not much better than 1.

One other question I am going over the rollers and libricating and notice the one on the bow doesn’t spin freely I loosened the bolt and put some grease in there. Now this should spin freely? So I should only tighten enough so the wheels spin?

Sorry if I overthink things lol I like to stay on top of maintenance.

Bow roller doesn't need to rotate. It's a stop.

Try moving the jack to the side rail about where the red X is. It will work fine and doesn't need to be on the tongue. Maybe the other side is better to clear the winch handle.

For stubborn bearing caps I use a pair of channel locks. Hook the jaw in the rim of the cap and pry with the lower jaw on cap as illustrated by the perfect drawing below. LOL Rotate the pliers around the cap if needed to pry on the circumference. Be gentle to minimize cap dents.

Wait won’t the trailer tip over if I put the jack on the side? The weight it center no? Also won’t it not roll straight and on an angle

No, the trailer won't tip over. And, it will not affect rolling the trailer around.

Hit the cap out towards the end with a dead blow. Do this very 120 degrees or so. Usually pops them right off.

In the long run, swap them out for a set of bearing buddies if you have conventional axles or EZ lubecaps with you have ez type axles
