Hi, I am getting a 13' Boston whaler . Not 100% on the year but it looks just like the 2008 Boston Whaler 130. It has a 40hp mercury engine on it and comes with the manufacturer trailer. I'm trying to figure out if I can tow it with a 2017 Toyota Corolla which has a towing capacity of about 1500lbs. I know the boat weighs about 600lbs dry but I'm not sure about the weight of the trailer. Thank you for your help.

Edit: it is a 2005

Probably not yet ideal tow vehicle but it should work ok, especially if you aren't towing far. Would just take it easy and go a tad slower.

The Problem will be loadin' out at the boat launch,.....

I have a number of old Whaler catalogs, though not a 2005. Based on other years I would guess the total weight (boat, 40 hp, trailer and fuel) to be about 1150 pounds. Add weight of a spare tire, fishing equipment, etc. to that figure. Also, its a 14 year old boat, so if there was any hull damage and it is waterlogged, it could possibly be heavier.

Regardless, I would not consider a Corolla to be a towcar, unless it was on city streets and the distance was minimal.
