Floating splash pads

Does any one know what those "New Fangled" floating pad that everyone is using these days is made of?
I know its a Closed cell foam but that needs narrowing down too. Also a source for the material?

Wife and others would like to have one but I don't want to pay $400 plus for a small one if I don't have to.

In for info on this. The house we rented at LOTO last year had one, and it might be the best water toy created yet. That said, they're $$$ for a piece of foam (imo of course)
