I'm looking at a 1995 Kawasaki 750 SS. I took it to a mechanic who checked compression, impeller, etc. All checked out.

I took it out for about 30 min test drive. About 10 mins of this is idling through a no-wake zone. After I got back, there was about a gallon or so of water in the bilge. I checked the factory bilge pump and it didn't appear to be blocked.

The drain plug was installed and tight. The hull doesn't appear to have any cracks.

Is this normal to get water in the bilge for this machine? If not, where should I look for water to enter the bilge?

Thanks!

You should take it out of the water, empty it out and then set it back in and watch the engine compartment for leaks, most likely around pump housing or the water tube that supplies water to the engine for cooling could be leaking.
