This is my girlfriends Polaris SL 750 that I've never rode before. I put in a new battery first thing this year. It apparently never had an issue until this summer. When trying to start the starter just spins like it's not engaging. I figured it was the starter so I took it out, which was a lot of fun. Now, bare with me because I don't know how this is suppose to work or the terms to use. When I got out the starter the gear that the starter's teeth go into just spins freely with my hand. I would assume that this shouldn't spin so easy and there's probably something else wrong? I doesn't seem like it's like a car starter that has the bendix that moves in and out.
