I just bought my first PWC, Seadoo GTX S 155. I've taken it out once. It idles at 1700 to 1800 rpm. I thought it might decrease after warming, but it didn't. Is this normal?

Re: Idle RPM

Yes. idle speed out of the water is much higher. Also never it run it for more than a few seconds without water.

Re: Idle RPM

That's exactly the range mine idles in while in the water. About 3 mph through the no wake zones.

Re: Idle RPM

It should idle 1500-1700 in the water warmed up and 3500 out of the water on the hose. You can adjust the idle with the thumb screw on the carbs (but not if it's FI), but if it "rattles", it's too low. Any lower than 1500 RPM, your idle steering control is gonna suck.
