1 & 1a are fuel supply for the carbs/motor.
2 not sure without looking at my 787 - and it's stored for season :(
3 goes to the oil pump on the "nose" of the motor.
4 Place wire "ball" into the cam of the carb main butterfly then place the cable in the frame (in pic 3) in the bottom slot. Straddle the two jam nuts and washers on the frame and tighten/adjust to the correct spec.
5 Slide the end of the cable through the locknut (you can see it in pic 3) and then place the cable in the frame (in pic 3) in the top slot. Straddle the two jam nuts and washers on the frame and tighten/adjust to the correct spec. Then tighten the locknut to the cable.

Thx.
question: what oil is good? i know much debate but would you think its neccessary as a fresh rebuilt engine to run with seadoo xps oil from the dealer (around $55 for the 4L here) or just the quick silver pwc 2 stroke oil will do fine (around $33 here)

edit: also how do i get behind the carb there to hook up the choke and throttle cable? i cant even see where they are supposed to go!

Whoa! No Quicksilver in that fresh Rotax! It's worth it to pay the extra for the right oil. Now I'm a violator so I use Amsoil Dominator. Both have the additives for the rave valves and such. You want to stay away from the old tcw3

So after more research Amsoil it is..there is no point in the xps oil for that kinda price and i would have to run to dealer each time.
now i checked my local stores and what is readily available is Amsoil Interceptor in 1quart form...so i can just get that and add as needed over the use of the seadoo. but of course i need more like a gallon to start with so there are some dealers here that sell so i will go and see if i can pick up 1 or 2 gallon. the extra i can keep.
so what is better..Dominator or interceptor. cant seem to find a difference.
also there is Lucas 2 stroke oil that compares in label info to Amsoil.

for grease i was able to get the Nemco brand (http://www.nemco.ca/nemco.php?p=great_products-GreaseProducts)
i bought the blue(lithium complex grease) one and the black (lithium complex grease
containing 3% molybdenum disulfide) one is this good grease or not. i need to grease the shaft until that boot is full and havent really researched about any other areas that need greasing.
i have more pics and questions from the pics so will post tomorrow.

Looks like you have already removed the air breather assembly which is the first step. With a Rotax motor, the entire engine is actually mounted at an angle to which a person has minimal space to work on the carb side of the motor. Some people can achieve it, but I can't on my 787. Try your best in doing so, becuase you'll have to remove the carbs to attach the lines if you can't do it while attached to the motor.

Also, as far as 2 cycle oil, choose the one with the least amount of ash. That's what causes carbon build-up. The carbon deposits are what will destroy your motor rather quickly - say in a year or two. So well worth the extra cash for the lowest ash content oil.

On grease, I suggest only a synthetic marine grade type. I'm not too particular on the brand but have used different types, and the synthetic marine grade seems to be the best in water protection.

Re: 96 Seadoo SPX 717 project hookup

is there a schematic diagram of the carb showing how the throttle and choke cable is hooked up all together.
ok so more pics and wanted you to help me identify these areas in the pics...they are labeled.

A - which hose goes here?
B - which hose goes here?

D - missing clips right? can i use the regular screwed clamps?
E - what goes here?
F - what is this? is it he fuel or oil filter? does it need replacing from that color?
G - is something missing in this area?

So i went to look at the jet pump nozzel area to find that the darn plastic end of the "trim rod molding" is broken. thats just great! i never noticed it until now so its stupid how people dont tell you when you buy. anyone know where i can get this part from..been looking and no one wants to deliver for a fair price to Canada.

Re: 96 Seadoo SPX 717 project hookup

my dess key is all frayed and stuff so picked up an old cell phone charger that was junk but the wire was good i made a new one.
had to remove the steel clips on both ends and took some time to get them out and reused them. it hold well actually!
only thing now i am not sure of is since this is a wire inside can it cause some kind of electric current and end up frying me? i don't think so since the key end is rubber anyway and i should just use a plastic clip on the other end instead of the metal clip. will add a whistle too as my sound signaling device.
