So I bought a 97 sugar sand heat with the 120 sport jet, and since I've exclusively used outboards growing up, whats the regular maintenance for a jet? The boat didn't come with an owners manual, and I haven't been able to find one online at all (got a service manual, but not an owners). I trailer it, what sort of stuff am I supposed to do after taking it out of the water? I've seen jetski guys run theirs on the trailer for a few seconds after coming out of the water, should I do that? what does that do? how do I know how long to do that for? What other maintenance is required for these things, and how do I wintertize it? I've been told that jets are not self-draining like outboards, so what needs to be drained and how often?
I run it in fresh water only, im pretty far inland.
took it out for the first shakedown today, sliding sideways is a new (and somewhat disconcerting) experience, I can see this one being alot of fun.
