thinking about getting this 95 yamaha waverunner...$350 with the trailer.
apparently it ran 1.5months ago and just stopped.
someone checked and there isnt or is low compression on one side. it has two plugs.
what would this cost to get it rebuilt?
any ideas if its a good buy? ?? i was just even interested in the trailer if the jetski is trash.

thanks for the advice

Re: 95 yamaha waverunner

If its the Waverunner III with the 650 engine you can get a complete rebuilt engine for $5-700 with a core exchange. If the bottom end is OK a top end kit will run $300. If its one of the other skis with the 700 engine (much better engine IMO) it will cost a few $100 more for the same options. These costs are all if you do the work yourself. If you have someone else do it double or triple these estimates. You also need to factor in a carb. rebuild ($40 if you do it yourself).

If its a Waverunner its not that great of riding ski IMO, but the trailer is probably worth $350 if its in decent shape. the Venture and Blaster were better rides.

Yea i will be doing the work myself if i have enough instructions so gotta get a manual.
i should be getting it tomorrow so i will run a compression myself and see if i can even start it and post back.
where can i get these parts though will be hard to find i think so if anyone has a good place for parts for a Canadian then let me know...much appreciated.
if i can\t fix it then i will rip it apart for parts and sell it that way and keep the trailer and sell it off.
i am thinking to just get it running for a few times then it will be a winter project of mine if i like it that much as a rider

This company is probably the largest in the states for rebuilt ski parts: http://www.shopsbt.com/ I'm guessing they will ship to Canada. Boats Net: http://www.boats.net/ is where I like to get OEM parts if you decide to go that route, but expect to really spend some $$$ on OEM stuff.
