  • Replacing deck/foot pads on Yamaha GP760

Need to tear off the old and put on the new Blacktip pads. What's the best substance to use in aiding with the tear off of the OEM pads and removing the old glue? I was thinking acetone but I also thought it would damage the gelcoat finish. Anybody have good results with certain products used for glue removal?

I found there wasn't hardly any glue at all on mine. I used a little simple green, careful though it can strip the gel coat so rinse off quickly and then I buffed and waxed. You could also just use some goo-off.
