I have a guy who sunk a 94 Yamaha VXR Pro. I got it running, he took it out for acouple hours, runs great, but smokes like crazy. I cleaned out the oil tank, replaced it with YamaLube oil, same as what he was using. The oil pump is mechanical, not sure if there is an adjustment on it or not. I did run plenty of oil through it when I got it started, but after 10 minutes on the water that should be out of there. He wants me to look at it again, but not sure I can help him. Can this pump over-oil? Thanks, Bruce

Those pumps do over-oil and are non-adjustable. It probably smoked at or a little off-idle before it got wet. I'd get a block-off plate and ditch the pump and pre-mix. They do fail also. That 701 motor is almost bullit-proof, until there's no oil. That is a 17 year old oil pump.

Good points. I'll mention this to him and see if he wants to go this route.

Thanks, Bruce

New to PWC ownership and just picked up one of these 94vxr-pro's. If you want to pre-mix what ratio should be used.

Also what is the weight capacity of this machine.
