Help please I have a 1990 Yamaha wr500d

It was rebuilt. They went to test ride it got about a hundered yards and it died. they got it into shore pulled the plugs turned it over and it pumped water out the cylinder. Can any one point me in the right direction. thanks for any help. I have been told that it's from the exaust.

water can back up into the cylinders if the boat is moving( being towed) and the engine isn't running. That COULD be the only reason the water is in there and may have nothing to do with the stalling. Usually if you pull the plugs and crank the engine, With seat on to cut down on mess, and pump out the water, it should fire again with NEW plugs. This doesn't help with you first problem of why it quit in the first place.

Thanks, I will throw a new set of plugs in it and see if that helps. I'm new to PWC ownership.
